Helen Terblance

I am a Speech Language and Hearing therapist from Cape Town. I have recently relocated to Pretoria and joined the Speaktacular team at the beginning of 2019. I am fluent in both Afrikaans and English. I qualified in 2016 at the University of Stellenbosch and completed my Community Service year in Pietermaritzburg at Northdale District Hospital and Pietermaritzburg Assessment and Therapy Centre. The experienced I gained during this year fostered my love for working with both children and adults.

I am extremely passionate about working with children on the Autism Spectrum disorder and children with other neurodevelopmental speech and language difficulties. I have completed my training in Makaton (Module 1 & 2), a course in Bridges to Social understanding as well as additional training in the assessment and management of a child on the Autism Spectrum Disorder.

I have experience in working with children with speech and language delays, auditory processing disorder and specific learning difficulties. I value the critical importance of a family based approach to intervention and working with parents and teachers to help each little one reach his/her full potential.
